Rising Star Ultimate is dedicated to developing the next generation of leaders in and through the sport of ultimate Frisbee. To achieve this goal we offer youth camps, clinics, and personalized coaching sessions. Rising Star Ultimate promotes a growth mindset, sportsmanship, and communication. This summer we are hosting a series of camps for girls and boys ages 8-18 of all experience levels.
Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact team sport that combines elements similar to soccer and basketball played on a football-sized field. One of its most distinctive elements is that the game has no referees; infractions must be discussed among the players on the field, and players learn critical skills concerning conflict resolution. The sport is guided by the principle of “Spirit of the Game,” an honor system mandating that “highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors” (USA Ultimate). Ultimate is fast-paced, fun and based on cooperative team play and good sportsmanship.
Camp will run Monday to Friday from 9am – 3pm. These camps will introduce new players to the sport of ultimate and build skills for returning players. We will teach players the fundamentals to play ultimate, the rules and the guiding philosophy of “Spirit of the Game.” All camps this summer will be hosted at the Portland Waldorf School. Whether your child wants to stay active over the summer or learn a new sport, register online or learn more at www.risingstarultimate.com.
In addition to camps, Rising Star Ultimate also offers clinics and personalized coaching sessions for teams and individual players to take their game to the next level. To schedule a clinic or personalized coaching session email: Jeremy@risingstarultimate.com
